“Such unusual confidence and vision for a student project—with a friendly user interface.”
—Gabe Kean
“A playful interaction that stands on its own.”
—Megan Meeker
This demo video was created as part of my graduate final project, which is a concept for an interactive application that enables and inspires users to learn about, design, and share repeat patterns. Interactive features within the application allow users to actively engage with the content. An interactive timeline covering the history of pattern design from Ancient Egypt through today allows users to explore patterns, key events, and designers. Pattern design tutorials that combine text, images, and animations provide instruction on the principles of repeat pattern through the lens of historical examples. Finally, the application provides users with the digital tools they need to create their own repeat patterns, which they can then share with other users in the online creative community.
