Hello!
I’m Chrissie, founder of Nuthatch Studio and a designer & illustrator with a love for creating colorful and delightful illustrations and patterns. I’m a nerd for color theory, organization of all kinds, and picking fonts with just the right personality for the job. When I’m not in the studio, you can find me channeling my inner Martha Stewart in other creative pursuits, devouring the latest romantasy novels, or adventuring in wild, beautiful places with my husband, son, and doodle dog.
In 2022, I launched my online shop, Nuthatch Studio with the simple idea to create art that both delights and cares for our planet. Since then, I’ve steadily grown my collection of products that prioritize beautiful design, craftsmanship, social responsibility, and sustainability. My colorful collection features knit blankets, greeting cards, fine art prints, and more. In 2025, Nuthatch Studio joined 1% for the Planet, committing to donate at least 1% of my annual revenue to vetted environmental partners who are addressing the most pressing issues facing our planet. All together for our planet.

Work with me
I graduated from the College of Design at North Carolina State University with a Master of Art + Design and a Bachelor of Graphic Design. I began my journey into freelance design and entrepreneurship after nearly 15 years of working with in-house design teams, where I collaborated with a diverse range of clients on everything from immersive museum exhibits and interactive games to comprehensive design systems and user experience design.
